V úvodu tohoto pokračování, natočeného o čtyři roky později, tedy v roce 1989, se šest z nich vrací zpět na Zemi. Doprovázejí své mimozemské přátele při jejich novém pokusu vyzvednout ze dna moře zámotky s jejich druhy. Během původně plánované krátké návštěvy však někteří z důchodců začínají uvažovat o rozhodnutí na Zemi zůstat. Navíc se armádě podaří zajmout jednoho z mimozemšťanů a podrobit ho nelítostnému a krutému výzkumu. Je na Jackovi, který se opět setkává se svou mimozemskou milou, aby se uvězněného mimozemšťana pokusil zachránit.
